What is This
Course?
Most restorative challenges are not tooth problems, they are diagnostic problems. This course teaches general dentists how to diagnose and plan from the face first, then use orthodontics strategically to set up ideal, minimally invasive restorative outcomes. Rather than jumping straight to tooth preparation or smile design on models and screens, participants will learn how facial balance, lip dynamics, tooth display, and smile frame guide orthodontic and restorative decisions from the very beginning.
Participants will learn how to use aligner therapy as a pre-restorative positioning tool, moving teeth into their final restorative destinations before any irreversible dentistry is performed. Foundational orthodontic concepts are taught only where they directly support facial harmony, restorative predictability, and long-term stability.
Digital workflows, including Invisalign Smile Architect, are used to integrate facial analysis, orthodontic planning, and restorative execution into one cohesive, efficient system.

Mastermind Session Highlights: From Growth to Action
● Explain the principles of facially driven diagnosis, including facial balance, lip posture, tooth display at rest and smile, midline relationships, and how these factors guide pre-restorative orthodontic planning.
● Demonstrate how facial analysis informs orthodontic decisions related to tooth position, space distribution, arch form, and bite setup before restorative treatment.
● Apply aligner therapy to reposition teeth into their ideal facially driven restorative positions, reducing or eliminating aggressive tooth preparation and occlusal adjustment.
● Integrate foundational orthodontic concepts such as space management, anchorage awareness, and occlusal considerations within a facial-first, restorative context.
● Utilize digital smile design and Smile Architect workflows to align facial goals with orthodontic movements and restorative outcomes.
● Sequence ortho-restorative cases to improve clinical efficiency, interdisciplinary communication, and long-term functional and aesthetic predictability.
● Evaluate minimally invasive strategies that preserve enamel and soft tissue while enhancing facial harmony, symmetry, and embrasure proportions.
● Enhance the patient experience through a facially driven, confidence-building treatment approach that emphasizes clarity, trust, and intentional care.
